Lilith and the Three Brains

Without Lilith, you and I would not be here right now…

Since I am preparing to include Lilith in astrological interpretation, I am studying intensely, learning from the best sources I can find, and conducting empirical study. Most of the sources I have found thus far are long on imagination and myth, and, although these are both important in astrology, I will take an alternative path through neuroscience and evolutionary biology. Curious? Come along on a short meditation that may lead you to unusual discovery.

Lilith is such a difficult symbol for us socialized people to understand precisely because it is unsocialized, primordial. Lilith energy has been part of us for aeons, before cro-magnon or even neanderthal. That is many hundreds of millions of years, so long that we may only imagine it intellectually. But we have Lilith to thank for our lives right now: without Lilith energy, we would not have survived as a species. You and I would not be here right now.

Of course, both females and males have Lilith energy as they have all other astrological energies. Another wrinkle about Lilith is that there are several distinct Lilith symbols. At this point, I am working with Black Moon Lilith, so “Lilith” in these pages refers to it unless stated otherwise.

Evolutionary Riff on “Judgment”

Placeholder ImageBased on my readings of literature in sociology, biology and evolutionary anthropology (for one, Dunbar’s Grooming, Gossip, and the Evolution of Language), I appreciate that humans’ brains consume 20% of our total energy although the brain is only 2% of our body weight.

Think about that stat a minute. Our brains are our bodies’ equivalent to mainframes. Very scarce and expensive equipment. Costly to operate. Continue reading “Evolutionary Riff on “Judgment””
